SENT Ventures Announces 2nd Annual Pitch Competition for Catholic Founders to be held at SENT Summit in September
2024 Pitch Competition to offer $10,000 prize, $50,000 in-kind prizes, and opportunities to connect with values-aligned investors
SENT Ventures, a community for Catholic business builders, is excited to announce that the second annual SENT Pitch Competition will take place at the SENT Summit, a conference for Catholic executives, entrepreneurs, and investors, on September 3-6, 2024, at the Omni Hotel & Resort in Fort-Worth, Texas. Five qualifying startups will be chosen to pitch their innovative ideas to a panel of seasoned Catholic investors.
The 2024 Pitch Competition is a unique event for Catholic builders and investors to come together for a high-impact networking experience. Participants will have the opportunity to connect with values-aligned investors and win a $10,000 prize and $50,000 in-kind prizes.
“SENT certainly delivered on bringing high-quality investors to the room,” said Paddy McNamara, Founder of Allera Tech and participant in last year’s SENT Pitch Competition. “We got at least a dozen investor meetings with top VCs and angels, and one led to an investment. Even more than that, I built rich relationships with other Catholics in the startup world and have benefitted from the support of that community.”
In addition to the Pitch Competition, the four-day Summit will feature small group strategy sessions, multiple forums for networking, opportunities for Mass, adoration, and reconciliation, and keynote and breakout sessions led by some of the most successful Catholic business leaders in the country. Featured speakers include Alex Jones, CEO and Co-Founder of Hallow, Steve Milligan, former CEO of Western Digital, Caroline Gash, Managing Director of Irish Angels, Myles Harrington, President and Cofounder of Grant Street Group, and many more notable speakers.
The SENT Summit combines powerful spirituality, practical business help, inspiring content, and relationship-building into one event curated specifically for the Catholic business builder. “As soon as we arrived there I knew that these were my people, these are people who are pursuing holiness and striving for excellence in business, these are people that wanted to integrate their faith into their work,” said Bob Hogan, co-founder of Presidio Healthcare, of the 2023 SENT Summit.
With a focus on practical and actionable insights, attendees will leave with valuable strategies and tools to help them grow and succeed in their businesses.
“As business leaders, we often struggle to apply the lessons of our faith to our work directly. At SENT, we believe that the challenges we experience in business can be a tool God uses to sanctify us and to renew creation,” said former investment banker, monk, and SENT Ventures Founder John Cannon. “If you’re serious about your business and serious about your faith, this event is for you.”
The 2024 Pitch Competition is open to startups that advance Catholic values and meet other alignment, team, market, traction, and timing criteria. The deadline for teams to apply to the Pitch Competition is 11:59 PM ET on June 14th. Please apply before then to ensure that your team has a chance to compete.
